Busan works best when you treat it as both a city and a coastline.

Most travelers either:

  • Stay too short, or

  • Try to combine it with Seoul in a rushed split.

This plan assumes 7 full days based in Busan, with one smart regional add-on. No rental car. No frantic transfers.

Before You Go

Timing

Chinese New Year in 2026 falls on February 17, affecting regional travel patterns in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. By late March, Busan typically returns to steady flow with manageable crowds.

Base Rule

Stay in one accommodation for the entire week.
Hotel switching kills momentum.

Where to Stay (Important)

Choose ONE area:

Haeundae Area

  • Beach access

  • Coastal walk connectivity

  • Scenic mornings

Seomyeon (Central)

  • Metro hub

  • Food density

  • Easier access to multiple districts

For first-timers: Seomyeon = practicality.
For scenery lovers: Haeundae = vibe.

The Extra-Detailed 7-Day Plan

Day 1 — Arrival + Easy Waterfront Orientation

Goal: settle in.

  • Check in and unpack fully.

  • Do a light waterfront stroll near your base.

  • One seafood-forward dinner.

No late-night wandering. Let the sea air do the work.
